Is that Side Kick is restricted during the Taekwondo sparring?

as question, and why if yes?|||I don%26#039;t recall a sidekick being restricted while I was training in TKD. The only logical reason I know that you don%26#039;t see often is because its rarely used due to the fact a majority of practitioner find it less effective and restrictive in terms of practicality of getting in %26quot;points%26quot; sparring. Hence the reason why you see more axe kick, roundhouse kicks, front kicks, spinning kicks..etc|||depends on where you train and where you fight. each place will be a little diferent.|||Assuming you mean WTF-style sparring, then no. However, the side kick, along with the front kick which is also technically legal, are not counted for a score as often as say a roundhouse or axe kick. Also, side kicks tend to leave your hogu pretty open for your opponent%26#039;s counter.

For those two reasons most fighters are mainly using the roundhouse now, but despite that it is still a legal kick and you can use it in tournaments to the chest or to the head.|||I always use it. So it is not restricted, it is a basic kick.|||No.When we spar we are allowed to use it.Why you ask?|||Not that i heard of.|||I am a black belt in taekwondo . I know I could help u if your question was more clear|||sweeping the feet is all that is disallowed in competition and sparring
