How can I improve my roundhouse kick?does anyone know any good training drills for taekwondo?

I do taekeonod and kickboxing does anyone know any good training drills to improve my roundhouse kick|||you can improve your taekwondo, particularly your roundhouse kick by just following these instructions:

first of course we need to soften our bones to perform a roundhouse

by doing warm up calisthenics and stretchings0, and then if we are all warmed up, we%26#039;re ready to start.

to perform a roundhouse first we begin with a forward stance(the basic forward stance is left foot bend forward and the right straight foot is at the back and your arms are on a defense stance.) i%26#039;m quite sure you already know that.

so now you are ready to kick...

this is how it goes, you will raise your right foot forward like doing a straight kick and at the same time you will twist your left foot (thumb of your foot must point at the back) also your body facing left side. when your feet reach the level of the face of your opponent you will transform your kick into a semi 45 kick and that should do it...|||here are some quick drills you can do

1. throw your kicks in slow motion (crazy for control)

2. throw multiple kicks without bringing your foot back to the ground (don%26#039;t recommend this in a fight but good drill to get balance)

3. if you want to impress your buddies learn to throw kicks that change drection and turn in other kicks. c-o-c-k you foot like your throwing a front kick then a the halfway point turn it into a roundhouse kick, you can do the same with your your side kick, hook kick etc.(works great in sparring you loose a lot of power in your kicks but you%26#039;ll scored points like crazy)

just a few ideas i had at the top of my head

www.gorillagear.ca|||Accuracy training. It%26#039;ll improve other aspects as well. Throw your kicks at half speed and stop just as your instep touches the target, then move on to the next target without putting your foot down - just re-chamber, pivot, and kick at half speed again.

You%26#039;ll see every flaw in your stance, balance, extension and snap, arm/body positioning, and pick out the muscles that need strengthening. I do about 30 minutes of this each time I train in conjuntion with the rest of my routine. |||flutter kicks are good for balance and will improve your speed

start by placing one hand on the wall raise your knee up into you chest and hold it there with your other hand, once you get a stretch turn it over and hold it so you leg is horizontal to the floor, hold it there again as a stretch then fully extend your kick and once again hold for stretch. once you have done this repeatedly kick at least 100 times and when your finished repeat the previous steps in reverse order and then do the other leg.

once you become more proficent move away from the wall and do it free standing

and squats are your friend|||Pivot your hip in the direction of the kick and keep your knee up. Never let your knee drop or you will hurt your back. Also practice the kicks in slow motion so you can get used to proper technique. Also, the butterfly stretch helps to improve your roundhouse kicks.|||what part of your kick do you want to improve?

the power, speed or accuracy, or technique for patterns(itf) style?

Some people have beautiful extension of leg and foot part and some people can kick through 4%26quot; of wood.

What part are you aiming for?|||Watch Walker Texas Ranger and get the tips from the big man himself ;)|||.........|||Tense your big toes 5 times daily|||make sure you turn your front foot out, it%26#039;ll give you more balance
