I just started Taekwondo a week ago and am loving it. Any tips for sparring or pattern work for a newbie? Just looking for some helpful hints, that%26#039;s all.|||be carefull.|||When things go wrong or others laugh at you, don%26#039;t give up, hold down. my favourite part of it is patterns so this is how patterens were explained to me
1. Watch your stances-make sure they%26#039;re a long stance is long and a short stance is short
2. use your power effectively but also relax go by the 1,2,3 trick-i.e relax on 1 and 2 and power the movement on 3
3. keep your body straight and dont lean over
4. have fun while you do it
and remember that patterens is like a militray march it has to be of a military precision
as for sparring well i am not very good at it
but a few pointers
kick hard and fast, dont back down, and keep your hands up in case head kicks
hope you enjoy the sport as much as i do

Goodluck!!!|||well when u do ur pattern, dun look dun when u are punching espicially for pattern like yellow belt sa jang and so on when pls kik at least above ur belt lvl if u are a big size guy like me
btw, iam also a taekwondo student and iam at blue tip lvl which is known as sa jang|||Go to class as often as you can and make sure you do adequate warm up. Congratulations. TKD is a terrific martial art.|||i am a black belt and all you need ot know is practice it took me 4 years to get it.|||Like any fight hit first, get hit less and don%26#039;t move too much and over exert yourself.Other then that make sure you follow your instructor%26#039;s instructions and don%26#039;t fall into a pattern|||dont you have a coach or teacher
