What do you call a female Taekwondo instructor? Is she called a Master as well or would you call her Mistress

Kyo-sa would be the Korean term for instructor.

she%26#039;s only a master if she%26#039;s tested for it.

%26quot;Ma%26#039;am%26quot; works just as well though.|||You can only call a 4th Dan or higher Master. 1 to 3 Dan should just be called Sir or Ma%26#039;am. If you want to know the Korean Terms for each see them below.

do joo nim : founder (of the art)

kwan jang nim : grandmaster

chung sah nim : chief instructor (or %26quot;chief master%26quot;)

sah bum nim : instructor (or %26quot;master%26quot;)

sah boo nim : more intimate and respectful form of %26quot;sah bum nim%26quot;; literally %26quot;teaching father%26quot;

kyo sah nim : teacher (also %26quot;seon saeng nim%26quot;)

sun bae nim : senior student

hu bae nim : junior student

hak saeng : student

suryun saeng : trainee

jeja : pupil|||Ask her what is the correct way to address her. I do not know the Korean address, in Chinese it is Si-fu and in Japanese arts, Sensei (karate anyway) so best to just check. She will respect YOU all the more for showing a great level of decency and humility.|||Whatever the instructors titles are in your dojo you refer to her with just the same. These titles have no gender to them. A sensei or Sifu or master is just that. Call her Mistress and you may feel the pain......|||Master. Master is genderless.

for your convenience.|||at our dojo (not Taekwondo though) we address as sir/mam (I address all students and instructors as such, but everyone at least addresses all instructors in this manner). Also , Mr. X or Mrs/Ms X...for the instructors.|||Call her Instructor ..... if you are not sure what to call her, or even better Sifu ..... which is a respectable way to say Teacher in Chinese, the same as Sensei in Japanese.|||Sabunim. That%26#039;s Korean for %26quot;Instructor%26quot;.|||well you wont call her master because she is a instructor but in my school we call instructors no matter what gender just instructor follow by there last name|||You address her as ma%26#039;am rather than sir, but you would still refer to her as - Master so and so|||instructer.
