How long does it take before you change the color of your belt in taekwondo?

I havent tried ...|||Someone training 4-5 days per week will test/advance much faster than someone training 1-2 days per week.

Generally speaking, there are 9 %26quot;Geup%26quot; ranks before you get to black belt.

As you progress, there is sometimes a madatory waiting period before you can test again, but this won%26#039;t happen until you%26#039;ve been training at least a year.

2-5 years for black belt, depending on how often you train.

James|||About every 3 months you%26#039;d go up a belt and about 6 months to change the color. Typically there are two belts per color (the belt and then the advanced belt). It%26#039;ll take you about 2.5 - 3 years to get to your black belt.|||Depends on the color you%26#039;re starting with and what kind of dye you are using. I mean, if you start with a red belt and you%26#039;re trying to make it blue, you%26#039;ll have your work cut out for you.|||In my academy, if you are a very good student, you can change belts about every 10 weeks, but most students get their belt every 4-7 months or so. It depends where you go.
