What are the good things and bad things about being in the sport taekwondo?

my friend is considering to quit but im trying to convince her to not quit. so i want to know the really good things about taekwondo or martial arts so i might be able to convince her to stay. thank you for helping!!!|||Sport Tae Kwon Do has a lot in common with dancing: it will keep your legs shapely, it will help you lose weight, it will increase your aerobic endurance, it won%26#039;t hurt your nails, and it won%26#039;t muss your hair.

But sport Tae Kwon Do is useless in a street fight and won%26#039;t help you defend yourself.|||just tell her the truth

You like her and you will miss her when she leaves training.

Just stop fooling around and ask her out|||Good: fun sport (at least to me), helps you get in shape

Bad: Not very practical for self-defense, too many McDojangs/%26quot;black-belt factories%26quot; around (difficult to find a TKD dojang that isn%26#039;t one)

If your friend wants to quit, there%26#039;s problably nothing you can do to convince her. But who knows, she might decide to take up martial arts again sometime in the future.|||TKD is good for physical fitness, stress relief and contrary to MANY beliefs, self-defense. The bad thing is, you can%26#039;t get a late start. Some of the more advanced kicks of the spinning and jumping variety, require a young persons legs.|||One of the worst things about sport taekwondo is that it frequently does not prepare you for a street fight. Many people think that because you participate in sport taekwondo that you%26#039;re an expert fighter, and that may not be the case. Sport taekwondo is concerned with point fighting which is very different from real fighting. One of the better aspects of sprot taekwondo is that you can get into great shape from the exercises you do.|||getting hit with hand and feet|||Taekwondo is a good form of exercise and discipline. It is cardiovascular in nature so it%26#039;s good aerobic exercise, which helps to burn calories. It is a form a self defense, therefore the techniques learned may be useful if needed to defend herself. The main benefit from Taekwondo or any martial art is the discipline it instills. If someone really sticks with it, they are very disciplined and it carries over into their everyday lives. Each class is a learning opportunity and one that can have a life long impact.|||I think you should find out why she wants to quit and go from there. It might not have anything to do with TKD.
